Section 1:
Multiple Choice (19pts/1pt each)- Material will be taken from terms on FOUND HERE (terms to include: opera elements and elements of fugue: Opera, Seconda Practtica, Sacred, Librettist, Overture, Ornamentation, Aria, Prima/Seconda Practtica, Secular, Recitative, Conductor, Pizzicato, Glissando, Vibrato, Trill, Movements of a string quartet).
Section 2:
Short Answers- Material will be taken from information FOUND HERE
1. (18pts)– Label the three different sections of sonata form and describe what happens within the context of each section.
2. (24pts)– Name each instrumental family in the orchestra. Provide me with the names of four instruments in each section.
Section 3:
Essay (10pts)- We looked at a variety of composers and musical forms through the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th Centuries. In the space below, discuss the musical forms and composers associated with those forms from the Baroque period through 20th Century. What composers were pertinent, what time period can we associate them with and what musical forms are they responsible for? Be thorough in your response.
