Biography

Equally comfortable in classical, jazz and commercial styles, Jarred Antonacci has performed and recorded extensively in the Philadelphia/New York region. Currently, he is on faculty at Temple University, The University of The Arts, Rutgers University Camden and Camden County College. His orchestral and chamber experience includes performances with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Opera Company of Philadelphia, AVA Opera Orchestra, Reading Choral Society, Wilmington Ballet Company, Monocacy Chamber Orchestra, Haverford Symphony and the Titan Brass Quintet
An active recording artist and commercial musician as well, Jarred regularly performs in both local theaters and off-Broadway touring shows in the greater Philadelphia/Delaware region. He has performed with a wide array of notable artists including appearances with Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, Wayne Newton, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Wynton Masralis, Kenny Baron Pat Martino and Benny Golson. Active on the jazz scene as well, Jarred is a member of the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia under the direction of Terell Stafford. Jarred’s additional recording credits include albums with Aretha Franklin, R Kelly, a multitude of singer/songwriter projects and the 2009 Naxos release of Paul Salerni’s award-winning one-act opera, Tony Caruso’s Final Broadcast.
An advocate for new music and soloist, Antonacci began commissioning new works for trombone in 2008: Concert Piece for trombone and piano (Lars Halle), Bomb Bomb for trombone and piano (David Thomas), Sliding Phases for unaccompanied trombone and Recitation/Exploration for trombone and piano (Norman David). Winning the Boyer College of Music concerto competition in 2010, Jarred was a featured soloist with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra, playing the the Nino Rota Trombone Concerto. Jarred holds a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from Temple University and a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from The University of the Arts.
